Zuraib is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “fierce attacker”. It is the name of one of the Sahaba (companions of the Prophet ﷺ) whose full name is Zuraib ibn Naqeer ibn Sumair. Zuraib is derived from the DHAD-R-B root (“to strike”) which is used in many places in the Quran.
