Zourayb is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means “fierce attacker”. It is the name of one of the Sahaba (companions of the Prophet ﷺ) whose full name is Zourayb ibn Naqeer ibn Sumair. Zourayb is derived from the DHAD-R-B root (“to strike”) which is used in many places in the Quran.
