Usman or Uthman is an Arabic name for boys that means “baby snake”. It also means “baby houbara”, which a large type of bird. It is the name of the third leader (caliph) of the Muslims after the death of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah upon him and his companions, whose full name is Uthman ibn Affan.
