Qasiym is an indirect Quranic name for boys that means āone who shares/distributes something among peopleā, āgiverā, āgenerousā, āhandsomeā. It was the name of one of the sons of Prophet Muhammad, and from it comes one of the famous nicknames of the Prophet:Ā Abul Qasiym (āfather of Qasiymā), peace and blessings of Allah upon him and his family and companions.Ā Qasiym is derived from the Q-S-M root which is used in many places in the Quran.
