Manareh means source of light, anything that gives off light, but especially a lighthouse or minaret. It is not directly mentioned in the Quran, but its root N-W-R is used in many places, for this reason it is a Quranic name. It comes from Noor, which is one of the 99 names of Allah and the name of a chapter in the Quran.
