EzaĀ is an indirect Quranic name for girls that means young female gazelle. It is an ancient Arabic name that is derived from the AIN-Z-Z root (azaza, which means ā€œit was dearā€, ā€œit was expensiveā€, ā€œit was hard to getā€), and they say that young female gazelles were called this because they were extremely hard to catch by hunters.
