Asya is the Persian and Kurdish pronunciation for “asia”, which refers to the largest continent on earth. It is originally a Greek word that referred to Turkey and Persia and possibly meant “eastern land”. Asya can also be used as a variant of Asyab, which is a Persian word that means “windmill”.
